Pishin Prioritizes Health and Education in Comprehensive Local Government Efforts

Pishin: Deputy Commissioner Zahid Khan emphasized the commitment of the Pishin administration to enhancing public services, including healthcare, education, and sanitation during a media briefing at Media House Pishin on October 2. The briefing highlighted several initiatives underway in Pishin aimed at improving the quality of life for its residents.

According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Balochistan, Deputy Commissioner Khan outlined the local government’s primary objectives, which reflect the broader welfare agenda of Chief Minister Balochistan, Mir Sarfaraz Bugti. These priorities include the eradication of polio, enhancement of educational standards, and the maintenance of public order.

During his address, Khan detailed efforts to eradicate polio, a disease that continues to pose a significant health risk to children in the region. He assured that the administration would leverage all available resources to increase public awareness and prevent the disease, with no tolerance for negligence in these crucial health initiatives.

The Deputy Commissioner also reported on the administration’s strict measures to combat smuggling, particularly Iranian petrol and diesel, which included recent seizures of non-custom paid vehicles and thousands of liters of diesel.

In the education sector, Khan reported on the revitalization of closed schools and accountability measures for absentee teachers, including show-cause notices issued to 81 teachers. He stressed the importance of the media’s role in societal development, praising its efforts in accurate reporting and advocacy.

These initiatives are part of a broader strategy to ensure the effective functioning of educational institutions and to foster a secure and orderly environment for the citizens of Pishin.
