ISLAMABAD: Chairman Senate of Pakistan, Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani, inaugurated a pictorial exhibition at the Parliament House, showcasing the longstanding diplomatic relations between Pakistan and Romania. The exhibition, which is presented as a gift by the Embassy of Romania, features a collection of rare and historic photographs documenting key milestones in the bilateral ties since 1964.
According to Senate of Pakistan, Chairman Senate Gilani expressed appreciation to the Romanian Ambassador Dan Stoenescu and the Romanian Embassy for this initiative. He emphasized the importance of people-to-people and parliamentary connections in strengthening international partnerships. The exhibition, he noted, includes rare photographs of prominent leaders such as former Prime Minister of Pakistan Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, who played a pivotal role in nurturing the bilateral relations.
The event was attended by notable figures, including Deputy Chairman Senate Syedaal Khan, Senator Rana Mehmood ul Hassan, and Member Provincial Assembly Syed Ali Haider Gilani, among others. Romanian Ambassador Dan Stoenescu praised Pakistan’s efforts for the ceasefire between the US and Iran and announced that a choral version of Pakistan’s National Anthem is a gift from the people of Romania to mark the enduring friendship. He also acknowledged the efforts of Chairman Senate Gilani in bolstering the ties between the two nations.
