Philip Morris International Delegation Discusses Economic Cooperation with Pakistani Finance Minister

ISLAMABAD: A high-level delegation from Philip Morris International met with Bilal Azhar Kayani, Pakistan’s Minister of State for Finance and Revenue, to discuss economic cooperation and investment opportunities. The delegation, led by Marco Mariotti, emphasized the company’s significant contributions to the country’s export and tax base and highlighted the importance of a stable fiscal environment for international investors.

According to Radio Pakistan, the meeting included discussions on addressing sector-specific challenges to sustain national revenue and legitimate commercial operations. The Philip Morris delegation reiterated its support for government strategies aimed at strengthening market regulations and curbing informal trade practices.

Minister Kayani underscored the government’s commitment to creating a business-friendly climate that encourages foreign direct investment and ensures fair competition for all industrial stakeholders. He emphasized the administration’s focus on stabilizing the economy through stringent enforcement of trade regulations and sustainable fiscal policies.
