Islamabad: A delegation from the Pakistan Footwear Manufacturers Association (PFMA), led by Mr. S.M. Tanveer, met with Mr. Bilal Azhar Kayani, the Minister of State for Finance and Revenue, to discuss matters concerning the industrial sector and economic policies. The meeting took place at the Finance Division and focused on the footwear industry’s contributions to manufacturing, exports, employment, and tax compliance, alongside feedback on the upcoming Federal Budget 2026-27.
According to Press Information Department, the PFMA delegation emphasized the need for policies that support industrial growth, enhance competitiveness, and facilitate business activities. The Minister acknowledged the manufacturing sector’s significance in economic growth, exports, and employment. He appreciated the delegation’s constructive suggestions and assured that their proposals would be duly considered. Additionally, he reiterated the Government’s commitment to fostering a favorable business environment and engaging constructively with industry stakeholders.
Both parties highlighted the necessity of ongoing dialogue and cooperation to promote economic stability, industrial competitiveness, and sustainable growth, while ensuring fiscal policies align with national development goals.
