Petroleum Minister Emphasizes Upgrade of Oil Refineries in Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Petroleum Ali Pervaiz Malik has reaffirmed the government’s commitment to the upgradation of oil refineries, underscoring it as a national priority. The minister highlighted the importance of modernizing the country’s refining infrastructure during a high-level meeting with the CEOs and Managing Directors of Pakistan’s oil refineries.

According to Radio Pakistan, the meeting focused on ensuring energy security, promoting cleaner fuels, and enhancing the country’s resilience against external disruptions. Minister Malik emphasized that local refineries are critical national assets vital for maintaining uninterrupted fuel supplies and reinforcing Pakistan’s energy security.

The participants of the meeting conducted a detailed review of the refining policies and the Upgradation Agreement template to ensure their effective and timely implementation. The discussions aimed at aligning the country’s refining capabilities with modern standards to address future challenges in the energy sector.
