Karachi, In a significant diplomatic encounter, a delegation from the Palestinian Resistance Movement convened with leaders of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir (APHC-AJK) in Islamabad today. The meeting was a display of solidarity between the two groups, who are both seeking self-determination for their respective regions.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the Palestinian delegation, including Dr. Ashraf Awad, Nadel Saleh, and Arif Ibad, engaged with APHC-AJK leaders Mahmood Ahmad Saghar, Ghulam Mohammad Safi, Mohammad Rafiq Dar, Sheikh Abdul Matin, Altaf Ahmad Butt, and Imtiyaz Wani. The discussions centered around the shared struggles against what they described as oppressive regimes of India and Israel in the occupied territories of Jammu and Kashmir and Palestine, respectively.
During the meeting, Mahmood Ahmad Saghar condemned India and Israel for their policies and actions in the occupied territories. The Hurriyat leaders outlined what they perceive as a sinister alliance between India and Israel aimed at stifling the freedom movements in Kashmir and Palestine.
The Palestinian delegates provided an overview of the Palestinian issue, detailing the historical background and the recent surge in Israeli aggression in Gaza and the West Bank. They articulated the long-standing aspiration of the Palestinian people for a sovereign state with al-Quds al-Sharif (Jerusalem) as its capital.
In a gesture of continued cooperation and mutual support, the head of the Palestinian delegation extended an invitation to the Hurriyat leaders to participate in an upcoming conference. Both parties called on the international community to take a more active role in halting the atrocities committed against Palestinians and Kashmiris and to support their right to self-determination.
This meeting underscores the growing solidarity between movements seeking autonomy and highlights the international nature of the struggle for self-determination.
