Pakistan’s Role as a Stabilizing Factor in the Region Highlighted by Envoy

WASHINGTON: Pakistan has emerged as a key stabilizing factor in the region, according to statements made by Rizwan Saeed Sheikh, Pakistan’s Ambassador to the United States. The envoy highlighted the country’s defense, diplomatic, and political strategies as pivotal in enhancing its international standing and credibility.

According to Radio Pakistan, Ambassador Sheikh emphasized that Pakistan’s global reputation was bolstered during the Marka-e-Haq event, where the country presented its position with facts and prudence. He noted that Pakistan continues to seek evidence regarding the Pulwama and Pahalgam incidents, stating that the international community is also awaiting further information.

The Ambassador addressed concerns about the Indus Waters Treaty, asserting that there is no provision within the treaty that permits its suspension. He warned that using water as a weapon would be considered an act of aggression and a breach of international law. Furthermore, he affirmed that Pakistan would exercise its right to self-defense if its water or territorial integrity were threatened.
