Islamabad: President of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan has expressed his appreciation for the efforts of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement, particularly the Pakistan Red Crescent Society, on the occasion of World Red Cross and Red Crescent Day. He emphasized the organization’s role in enhancing health systems, responding to emergencies, and supporting vulnerable populations.
According to Press Information Department, the President acknowledged the contributions of humanitarian actors in alignment with the Ministry of National Health Services, Regulation and Coordination’s vision of progressing towards Universal Health Coverage. He noted that the Red Crescent Movement has been instrumental in disaster preparedness, community-based healthcare, and health awareness initiatives, complementing national efforts to improve health outcomes in underserved areas.
As Pakistan confronts challenges such as climate-related disasters and public health emergencies, the President underscored the importance of collaboration between government bodies, humanitarian organizations, and communities. He reiterated the government’s commitment to partnering with these organizations to ensure effective healthcare delivery, emphasizing the need for integrated approaches and evidence-based policies to protect citizens’ health and well-being.
The President called on stakeholders to reaffirm their dedication to humanity and service, aiming to build a healthier and more inclusive Pakistan.
