ISLAMABAD: The National Assembly of Pakistan has reiterated its steadfast support for the country’s armed forces following recent escalations with India. In a unanimous resolution passed today, lawmakers expressed their resolve to stand by the military in defending the nation’s territorial and ideological boundaries.

According to Radio Pakistan, the resolution was introduced by Law Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar and highlighted the military’s professional response to what was described as unprovoked Indian aggression on May 10, 2025. The Assembly condemned an alleged campaign by the Indian government to implicate Pakistan in the Pahalgam terrorist incident, which occurred on April 22, 2025, in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, despite Pakistan’s outright condemnation of the attack.

The resolution acknowledged the Pakistan Armed Forces’ decisive retaliation, under the leadership of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir. It commended the military operation known as Bunyan-um-Marsoos, highlighting the Pakistan Air Force’s success in shooting down Indian aircraft, including Rafale jets, and destroying critical Indian military infrastructure.

Moreover, the Assembly recognized the strategic role played by the Pakistan Navy and the technical expertise of the country’s cyber warfare units in countering Indian cyber-attacks. The resolution emphasized that Pakistan’s desire for peace should not be mistaken for weakness and warned against any further misadventures by India.

Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, in his remarks, paid tribute to the armed forces on the anniversary of the conflict termed as Marka-e-Haq. The session concluded with plans to reconvene tomorrow morning.
