Islamabad: Sardar Masood Khan, former Ambassador of Pakistan to the United States, China, and the United Nations, emphasized that Pakistan’s security and future prosperity rely on national cohesion, technological innovation, economic resilience, and investment in human development, beyond its strategic military capabilities.

According to President of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Sardar Masood Khan addressed a gathering at the Nazar-i-Pakistan Council, highlighting Pakistan’s evolving defense capabilities, which have been shaped by national effort, scientific achievement, and strategic foresight. He noted that Pakistan’s deterrence framework, developed under challenging regional circumstances, has been crucial in maintaining strategic stability in South Asia.

He pointed out the significance of adapting to changing regional security dynamics, including evolving military doctrines and emerging technologies, which underscore the necessity of maintaining a credible deterrence posture. Pakistan, he stated, has consistently shown the ability to protect its sovereignty while exercising restraint in national security matters.

Sardar Masood Khan paid tribute to the contributions of scientists, engineers, policymakers, and national leaders in advancing Pakistan’s strategic and technological capabilities, emphasizing that major national achievements result from collective vision and institutional commitment.

He also stressed that modern security extends beyond conventional military strength, with technological superiority, innovation, and cyber capabilities becoming increasingly important. He warned of new threats in the information domain, such as misinformation and digital manipulation, which challenge national cohesion and public trust, requiring informed citizens and strong institutions.

Highlighting the role of education, Sardar Masood Khan called for universities, research institutions, and schools to drive innovation and national development through stronger linkages with industry and government. He stressed that economic strength is the foundation of sustainable national power, with industrial growth and technological self-reliance being essential for national development and security.

Concluding his remarks, he emphasized that Pakistan’s greatest asset is its people, urging the younger generation to embrace education and innovation while adhering to the country’s founding principles. He advocated for strengthening national unity, investing in human capital, and fostering technological excellence to build an inclusive and prosperous Pakistan.
