Islamabad, The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has mandated all political parties to disclose their major financial contributors, specifically those who have donated amounts of one million rupees or more to their election campaigns.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, this directive was issued to ensure transparency in political financing, with parties being required to submit detailed reports of their election expenses as per form sixty-eight. This submission must occur within sixty days following the official announcement of election results, with a set deadline of the 22nd of this month for all documents to be provided to the ECP.
This move by the ECP is part of a broader effort to regulate and monitor electoral financing, aiming to maintain the integrity and fairness of the electoral process in Pakistan.
