Zahidan: Ambassador of Pakistan to Iran, Mr. Imran Ahmed Siddiqui, engaged in a series of meetings with Iranian authorities in Zahidan, Sistan-Balochistan, aiming to enhance cooperation in education, trade, connectivity, and border management between the two nations.

According to Press Information Department, Ambassador Siddiqui’s visit included a briefing at the University of Sistan and Balochistan, where discussions focused on strengthening academic linkages with Pakistani universities and exploring new educational opportunities. In a separate meeting with Governor General Mansour Bijar, the focus was on bolstering trade and economic cooperation, with agreements to expedite pending projects and enhance connectivity through the Mirjaveh-Taftan border crossing. Both sides expressed concerns over regional developments and acknowledged Pakistan’s role in mediating between Iran and the United States.

Ambassador Siddiqui also assessed the operations at the Mirjaveh-Taftan border, aiming to address challenges and ensure smooth movement across the border. Discussions with local business representatives at the Zahedan Chamber of Commerce further emphasized the importance of intensifying business contacts to foster bilateral trade. The visit underscored the commitment to strengthen academic and commercial cooperation between Pakistan and Iran.
