Pakistanis Imprisoned in Sri Lanka Return Home on Chartered Flight

Islamabad: Fifty-six Pakistani nationals previously imprisoned in Sri Lanka returned home today aboard a chartered flight. The repatriation was facilitated by ongoing diplomatic efforts and financial support from Pakistani government officials.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has been actively coordinating with Sri Lankan authorities over the past three months to secure the prisoners’ release. Federal Minister for Privatization Abdul Aleem Khan has funded the entire repatriation process. Minister Naqvi expressed gratitude towards the Sri Lankan government and the High Commissioner for their assistance in the matter, as well as to Minister Khan for his financial support.
