Karachi, Aneeq Ahmed, the Caretaker Minister for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony, has called for the establishment of a more tolerant society in Pakistan, characterized by patience, love, and brotherhood.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Minister Ahmed made these remarks while addressing an ‘Interfaith Harmony Conference’ at St. Patrick’s Cathedral in Karachi. He urged people to promote a message of brotherhood to foster a livable society.
The Minister emphasized that no religion advocates for killings and bloodshed; instead, they all teach principles of love and peace. He highlighted the significant contributions of non-Muslim communities in various sectors, acknowledging their role in the socio-economic development of the country.
Furthermore, Ahmed praised the initiative of conducting workshops and exchange programs focused on interfaith harmony, underscoring their importance in building mutual understanding and respect among different religious communities.
This conference and the Minister’s remarks reflect Pakistan’s ongoing efforts to promote interfaith dialogue and tolerance in a diverse society.
