Islamabad: The Chief Justice of Pakistan met with the United Nations Resident Coordinator in Pakistan to acknowledge their collaboration in judicial reforms, marking the end of the UN official’s tenure. The meeting emphasized the ongoing partnership between the Supreme Court of Pakistan and the United Nations in enhancing judicial reform and promoting access to justice.

According to Press Information Department, the Chief Justice appreciated the United Nations’ support in initiatives focused on strengthening the rule of law and institutional capacity. He highlighted the cooperation that has characterized the collaboration during Mr. Mohammed Yahya’s tenure.

The discussion reflected on progress in mutual interest areas like judicial reform and legal empowerment. Both parties stressed the importance of continued collaboration to advance a justice system aligned with Sustainable Development Goals.
