PARIS: Pakistan’s Ambassador to France, Mumtaz Zahra Baloch, called for a revival of the Silk Road spirit during a seminar held at UNESCO to commemorate the International Day of Dialogue among Civilizations. The seminar, titled ‘Traditions of the Silk Road and Intercultural Dialogue,’ focused on fostering dialogue and cultural understanding.
According to Radio Pakistan, Ambassador Baloch elaborated on the historical significance of the Gandhara Civilization and the strategic role of Taxila along the Silk Road. She emphasized the need to rekindle the spirit of the ancient trade route to promote dialogue, respect for cultural diversity, mutual understanding, and peaceful cooperation.
The diplomat highlighted UNESCO’s significant role in encouraging dialogue, constructive engagement, and multilateralism. The seminar was part of a series of events celebrating the International Day of Dialogue among Civilizations, which also featured Pakistani cuisine as an example of the Silk Road region’s cultural diversity.
