Pakistan Urges Respect for Lebanon’s Sovereignty at UN Security Council Meeting

New York: Pakistan has reiterated its call for respect for Lebanon’s sovereignty, political independence, unity, and territorial integrity at an emergency meeting of the United Nations Security Council. Asim Iftikhar Ahmad, Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the UN, emphasized the need for an immediate cessation of hostilities and strict adherence to ceasefire arrangements by all parties involved.

According to Radio Pakistan, Ambassador Ahmad addressed the council, underscoring the importance of a stable and peaceful Lebanon for the broader peace and security of the region. He urged the international community to act swiftly to prevent further escalation and to seek a diplomatic solution consistent with international law and the UN Charter. Ahmad affirmed Pakistan’s solidarity with the people and government of Lebanon and pledged continued support for efforts to promote peace and stability in the region.
