Pakistan Urges Continued Support and Investment in UN Peacekeeping at Global Forum

New York: Pakistan has issued a call for sustained political support and investment in United Nations peacekeeping missions, emphasizing the need for agility and technological advancements in operations. The statement was made by Usman Jadoon, Pakistan’s Deputy Permanent Representative to the UN, during a panel discussion at the Challenges Annual Forum titled “Turning the Tide: Building Momentum for Peace Operations in a Demanding World.”

According to Radio Pakistan, Jadoon highlighted Pakistan’s long-standing commitment to UN peacekeeping efforts, noting that over 270,000 Pakistani peacekeepers have served under the UN flag in the past six decades. He also paid tribute to the 183 Pakistani peacekeepers who lost their lives in the line of duty. Jadoon advocated for reforms that enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of peacekeeping missions without undermining their core objectives.
