ISLAMABAD: Pakistan is set to host the 9th OIC Ministerial Conference on Women, commencing this Sunday, for a two-day event focusing on issues related to women’s rights and empowerment within the member countries of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC). A high-level committee meeting was held in Islamabad, chaired by Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, to finalize the preparations for the conference.
According to Radio Pakistan, the committee carried out a comprehensive review of various logistical and operational aspects necessary for the conference’s execution. This included assessments of the conference venue, programme details, delegate facilitation, protocol, security measures, logistics, media arrangements, and inter-ministerial coordination.
Ishaq Dar underscored the necessity for a seamless execution of the event, emphasizing the need for all involved ministries and agencies to maintain full engagement and enhance coordination. He urged that any remaining tasks must be completed within the established timelines to ensure the conference proceeds smoothly.
