Pakistan Single Window Receives Asia-Pacific Trade Facilitation Innovation Award 2026

Islamabad: Pakistan Single Window (PSW) has been honored as one of the three winners of the Asia-Pacific Trade Facilitation Innovation Awards 2026, marking a significant milestone in Pakistan’s digital transformation and trade facilitation efforts. The award was presented during the Paperless Trade Week 2026 in Bangkok, an event jointly organized by the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the United Nations ESCAP.

According to Asian Development Bank, the accolade recognizes PSW’s strategic role in enhancing Pakistan’s digital trade ecosystem, improving regulatory processes, and contributing to the country’s economic modernization. The award was accepted by Syed Aftab Haider, Chief Executive Officer of Pakistan Single Window, who emphasized the importance of the achievement for both the public and IT sectors in Pakistan.

PSW’s recognition stems from the successful implementation of the Integrated Risk Management System (IRMS), which automates the evaluation of trade declarations using AI-driven analytics. This system streamlines the process by assigning consignments to appropriate clearance channels without human intervention, thereby reducing unnecessary delays for legitimate, low-risk trade.

Haider expressed his pride in the achievement, highlighting that the IRMS represents a transformative shift in managing border clearance and positions Pakistan as a leader in global trade digitalization. The system’s legal backing under the Pakistan Single Window Act, 2021, ensures a standardized framework across all regulatory agencies, promoting transparency and efficiency.

During the Paperless Trade Week, PSW demonstrated its digital trade solutions, showcasing its technical architecture that minimizes reliance on paper-based processes. This award bolsters PSW’s status as a key player in advancing Pakistan’s trade digitalization, supporting the country’s economic growth through improved operational efficiency and enhanced regulatory coordination.
