Pakistan Seeks Closer Ties with Azerbaijan, Says Gilani


Baku: Pakistan aims to deepen its relationship with Azerbaijan, Chairman Senate Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani stated after a parliamentary delegation met with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev. The meeting, held in Baku, focused on strengthening bilateral relations and discussing regional issues.



According to a statement by Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Chairman Senate Gilani emphasized Pakistan’s pride in its bond with Azerbaijan, highlighting shared religious, cultural, and historical characteristics. He expressed Pakistan’s desire to further enhance these ties, believing that high-level exchanges are crucial for advancing public diplomacy.



During the discussion, Gilani informed President Aliyev about Pakistan’s Special Investment Facilitation Council. He pointed out the investment opportunities available in various sectors such as agriculture, energy, and mining in Pakistan, encouraging collaboration for mutual benefit.
