Pakistan Seeks Chinese Investment in Ports and Logistics Sectors


BEIJING: Pakistan’s Minister for Maritime Affairs, Muhammad Junaid Anwar Chaudhry, has extended an invitation to Chinese investors to increase their investment in Pakistan’s ports, logistics, and maritime sectors. This announcement was made during his address at the Regional Transit Trade Hub Initiative in Beijing.



According to Radio Pakistan, the Minister highlighted ongoing reforms by maritime institutions such as the Karachi Port Trust, Port Qasim Authority, Gwadar Port Authority, and the Pakistan National Shipping Corporation. These reforms are aimed at transforming Pakistan into a modern maritime, logistics, and industrial hub that serves regional markets.



Chaudhry also reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to strengthening bilateral relations with China. He emphasized the importance of closer cooperation between the two nations to foster a more connected and prosperous future through enhanced trade and investment.
