Islamabad: Pakistan has dismissed a recent statement from India’s Ministry of External Affairs concerning its counter-terrorism actions in Afghanistan, calling it baseless and misleading. This response comes amid ongoing tensions between the two countries over accusations of terrorism sponsorship and regional security issues.
According to Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesperson Tahir Andrabi, India’s remarks are seen as a reflection of hypocrisy, especially given India’s alleged sponsorship of terrorism against Pakistan from Afghan soil. The statement also criticized India’s internal policies, accusing its leadership of Islamophobia and of violating the rights of Muslims within its borders, as well as supporting foreign occupations.
The spokesperson further condemned India for what he described as historical actions undermining the sovereignty of neighboring countries, urging India to cease supporting terrorist groups from Afghanistan. He called on India to stop questioning Pakistan’s counter-terrorism measures, which have been recognized as effective by Pakistan.
