New York: Pakistan’s Prime Minister’s Special Assistant, Tariq Fatemi, met with United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, emphasizing the country’s enduring commitment to the principles of the UN Charter, including its support for peacekeeping operations.
In a meeting held in New York, Fatemi reiterated Pakistan’s dedication to international cooperation as outlined by the UN Charter, highlighting the country’s ongoing support for peacekeeping missions.
The Pakistani Mission to the UN released a statement following the meeting, underscoring the importance of the Pact for the Future, which was adopted by global leaders in September. Fatemi expressed optimism that the pact would be fully executed, particularly in terms of addressing the financial needs of developing countries to achieve Sustainable Development Goals and climate objectives.
Additionally, Fatemi brought attention to the situation in Jammu and Kashmir, focusing on what he described as India’s ongoing occupation and the denial of self-determination to the Kashmiri people.
