Islamabad: Pakistan has renewed its commitment to eradicating human trafficking as it observes the World Day Against Trafficking in Persons. The President of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan emphasized the need for a global and unified response to combat this crime, which transcends borders and affects individuals from all backgrounds.

According to Press Information Department, the President highlighted the complex root causes of trafficking, including poverty, conflicts, and lack of education, stressing that a comprehensive approach is needed to address these issues. The President called for a multi-layered strategy involving law enforcement, digital literacy, and public awareness campaigns to dismantle cybercrime gangs and prevent the exploitation of vulnerable individuals.

Pakistan has strengthened its strategy by enhancing collaboration with local and international law enforcement agencies. The country’s Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) is at the forefront of these efforts, focusing on proactive measures to dismantle trafficking networks and tighten border controls. The President urged citizens to report suspicious activities and recognize the signs of trafficking, emphasizing the importance of compassion and rehabilitation for victims.

The President concluded by urging Pakistanis to create opportunities within the country to prevent desperation that leads to trafficking, reaffirming the nation’s commitment to international collaboration and the creation of a safe environment for all.
