Ankara: The Federal Minister for Railways, Muhammad Hanif Abbasi, held a meeting with Mustafa Özdöner, Director General of TCDD Teknik, and his team at the Eryaman Monitoring Centre in Türkiye. The meeting aimed to enhance Pakistan-Türkiye cooperation in the railway sector, focusing on modern technology, digitalization, and technical collaboration.

According to Press Information Department, the discussions involved reviewing Turkish experts’ experience in train operations, traffic management, modern signaling, Centralized Traffic Control (CTC), and digital railway systems. Both sides agreed to leverage Türkiye’s expertise in these areas to advance Pakistan Railways.

The meeting also emphasized promoting technical cooperation, professional training, exchange of expertise, and capacity-building programs between Pakistani and Turkish railway experts. Potential cooperation in Artificial Intelligence (AI), Predictive Analytics, and smart railway technologies was discussed.

In the context of the modernization of ML-1 and ML-3, establishing an advanced centralized traffic management system was explored, with an emphasis on enhancing safety, efficiency, and technology in train operations. Minister Abbasi expressed interest in Turkish expertise in railway safety, emergency response, and efficient train operations.

The meeting highlighted the commitment to strengthening relations between Pakistan and Türkiye through modern technology, technical cooperation, and expertise exchange in the railway sector.
