Islamabad: Pakistan’s Ministry of Human Rights emphasized digital inclusion and modern literacy as key priorities for women’s empowerment in a statement on International Women’s Day.
According to Press Information Department, Saba Sadiq, the Parliamentary Secretary for Human Rights, highlighted the government’s commitment to closing the digital gender gap. She stated that access to technology and media literacy are considered fundamental human rights in the current digital era. The ministry is actively working to ensure that women across Pakistan have the necessary tools to thrive in the global digital economy.
The initiative also includes creating a ‘Cyber-Safe Pakistan’ to protect women from online harassment and exploitation. Sadiq emphasized the importance of integrating women into emerging technological fields and leadership roles to foster an equitable and prosperous future for the country.
The statement concluded with a call to action to dismantle barriers and build a society where women’s voices are heard and their potential is fully realized.
