Tokyo: The Pakistan Pavilion at Japan IT Week Spring 2026, hosted at Tokyo Big Sight, was officially inaugurated by Mr. Abdul Hameed, Ambassador of Pakistan to Japan. This marks Pakistan’s most significant participation in the event to date, featuring a delegation of 12 IT companies showcasing solutions in areas such as software development, cloud services, cybersecurity, fintech, and business systems.
According to Press Information Department, the Pavilion is a joint effort supported by the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan and the Pakistan Software Export Board, in collaboration with JICA. The initiative seeks to strategically position Pakistan’s IT sector within the Japanese market.
During the inauguration, the Ambassador emphasized the steady expansion of Pakistan’s IT sector, highlighting its growing experience in international markets and its capability to deliver to high-demand clients. He stressed that Pakistan’s presence aims to forge enduring partnerships with Japanese counterparts.
In light of Japan’s Society 5.0 initiative, which integrates technology into daily life to enhance productivity and address societal challenges, the Ambassador pointed out potential areas for collaboration. Pakistani companies can particularly contribute to enhancing business processes, system development, and operational management.
The Ambassador underscored the importance of consistency and reliability in engaging with Japan, noting that Pakistani firms are gearing up to meet these expectations. He advocated for initiating collaboration with small, well-defined projects to gradually build mutual confidence.
He also highlighted the longstanding trust between both nations, with Japanese firms having successfully operated in Pakistan for decades. This established rapport can be extended into the technology sector through a step-by-step engagement and long-term commitment approach.
