Pakistan Observes National Mourning for Former Amir of Qatar


Islamabad: Pakistan has announced a day of national mourning to honor the late former Amir of Qatar, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani. The government declared this gesture as a sign of solidarity with Qatar following Sheikh Hamad’s passing.



According to Radio Pakistan, Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif initiated the national mourning to express fraternal support from the government and people of Pakistan to the royal family, government, and citizens of Qatar. As part of the observance, the national flag will be flown at half-mast throughout the country.
