Karachi: Pakistan Navy Ships HUNAIN and YARMOOK seized over 2,800 kg of narcotics valued at approximately $750 million during a joint counter-narcotics operation in the Arabian Sea. The operation involved the interception of a suspicious boat and the discovery of narcotics hidden in concealed compartments.
According to Radio Pakistan, the operation occurred while the ships were on routine patrol. The successful interdiction drew commendations from President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, who praised the Navy’s role in securing Pakistan’s maritime boundaries and preventing illegal smuggling.
Naval Chief Admiral Naveed Ashraf also commended the officers and crew for their professionalism and vigilance. He reaffirmed the Pakistan Navy’s commitment to maritime security and its dedication to combating illicit trafficking at sea.
