Pakistan National Day Celebrated in Kathmandu with Flag Hoisting Ceremony


Kathmandu, The Embassy of Pakistan in Kathmandu commemorated the 84th National Day of Pakistan with a flag hoisting ceremony today, led by Ambassador H.E. Abrar H Hashmi. The event, attended by the Pakistani community, friends of Pakistan, and embassy officials and their families, was a tribute to the nation’s founders and a reaffirmation of Pakistan’s commitment to peace and prosperity.



According to Press Information Department, the ceremony featured the reading of messages from Pakistan’s President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar. President Zardari paid homage to the visionary leadership of Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and the sacrifices made for Pakistan’s independence, while also calling for an end to the subjugation of Kashmiri and Palestinian people. Prime Minister Sharif’s message extended congratulations to Pakistanis worldwide and expressed the nation’s resolve to confront challenges including inflation and terrorism. Foreign Minister Dar’s remarks emphasized the importance of Overseas Pakistanis in the nation’s development and highlighted Pakistan’s adherence to the principles of the UN Charter and international law.



Ambassador Hashmi, in his address, reflected on the enduring spirit of the 1940 resolution that paved the way for Pakistan’s independence and underscored the significance of strengthening Pakistan-Nepal relations. The celebration in Kathmandu not only honored Pakistan’s past but also looked forward to fostering closer ties between Pakistan and the global community.
