Abu Dhabi, The Embassy of Pakistan in the United Arab Emirates held a vibrant ceremony to mark Pakistan’s National Day, bringing together the Pakistani community, including children and women, and embassy officials for a commemoration filled with national pride. Ambassador Faisal Niaz Tirmizi led the flag hoisting, followed by the rendition of the National Anthem and spirited performances of milli naghmas by Pakistani students.
According to Press Information Department, the event featured readings of National Day messages from the President and Prime Minister of Pakistan, reflecting on the historical struggle for independence of the Muslims of the sub-continent. Ambassador Tirmizi underscored the importance of unity, tolerance, and harmony to confront economic challenges and achieve stability and prosperity for Pakistan. He reiterated Pakistan’s stance on supporting the self-determination rights of the people in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) and Palestine, highlighting their long-standing struggle against occupation forces.
The Ambassador also stressed the significance of the strong bilateral relationship between Pakistan and the UAE, praising the Pakistani community’s contribution to the progress and prosperity of the UAE and its role in bolstering Pakistan’s economy. He encouraged the Pakistani diaspora to remain engaged and law-abiding members of the UAE society, underlining their importance as a bridge between the two nations.
