Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has lauded Pakistan’s entry into the World Economic Forum and the Digital Cooperation Organization’s Digital Foreign Direct Investment Initiative. This move is seen as a significant step in the country’s ongoing efforts toward digital transformation.
According to a statement by Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Pakistan was the first nation to volunteer for the initiative, launching the Digital FDI-Enabling Project in 2022. The project aims to foster a digital investment ecosystem to drive prosperity.
In a post on his X handle, the Prime Minister expressed Pakistan’s commitment to advancing digital growth. He noted that the country is making significant progress in its digital transformation journey.
The World Economic Forum’s report detailed the targeted actions undertaken by the Digital FDI-Enabling Project team. These actions are specifically designed to align with Pakistan’s unique socioeconomic and regulatory environment, as well as its rapidly evolving digital landscape.
