Pakistan Hosts 9th OIC Ministerial Conference on Women


Islamabad: Deputy Chairman Senate Syedaal Khan Nasar welcomed delegates from the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to Pakistan for the 9th OIC Ministerial Conference on Women. The conference, themed “The Social, Economic and Political Empowerment of Women in OIC Countries: Challenges and the Way Forward,” aims at fostering unity and cooperation among member states.



According to Senate of Pakistan, Nasar emphasized the honor of hosting representatives from across the Muslim world and highlighted the conference’s role in advancing women’s empowerment. The gathering underscores the collective commitment of OIC nations to enhance opportunities for women in education, healthcare, entrepreneurship, technology, and leadership, ensuring their active involvement in societal development.



Pakistan will chair the OIC Ministerial Conference on Women for the next two years, a role Nasar described as both a responsibility and an opportunity to bolster collaboration among member countries. He expressed hope for the conference to yield productive recommendations and lead to the adoption of the Islamabad Declaration, aiming to provide a roadmap for inclusive development and female empowerment in the Muslim world.



Nasar reaffirmed Pakistan’s dedication to peace, unity, and shared progress within the OIC, and conveyed his best wishes for the conference’s success.
