Islamabad: Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs Muhammad Junaid Anwar Chaudhry has reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to enhancing its partnership with Chinese enterprises, focusing on the untapped potential in the maritime sector. Speaking with a delegation from a Chinese construction company, Chaudhry highlighted opportunities for foreign investment in port development, logistics, and maritime tourism.

During discussions with the six-member delegation led by Mr. Wang Yaodong, Chaudhry acknowledged China’s support in infrastructure development. He emphasized the vast opportunities available in the maritime sector, which aligns with Pakistan’s economic diversification strategy.

The meeting also explored the installation of desalination plants at Port Qasim. The Chinese delegation showed keen interest in investing in facilities to convert sea water into potable water, addressing industrial and domestic needs.

This collaboration reflects Pakistan’s goal to promote maritime tourism and other blue economy ventures, fostering economic growth through international partnerships.
