Islamabad: A high-level meeting convened at the Ministry of Industries and Production, chaired by the Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Finance and Revenue, Haroon Akhtar Khan, deliberated on strategies for industrial development, skill enhancement, and women’s empowerment. Key decisions were made to address these areas, underlining the importance of technical upgradation and a skilled workforce for the nation’s industrial advancement.
Haroon Akhtar Khan highlighted the Prime Minister’s vision to equip the youth with necessary skills to boost the country’s industrial progress. The meeting reviewed the performance of the Technology Upgradation and Skills Development Company (TUSDEC), revealing that 63,578 engineers, students, and youth have received training in various fields to date.
The establishment of a Business and Digital Skills Centre for women was announced, with Khan emphasizing the significant role women can play in the economy to enhance Pakistan’s GDP. He also stressed the importance of enhancing the competitiveness of Pakistani industries on both local and international fronts.
As part of the Prime Minister’s vision, TUSDEC has been assigned new responsibilities aimed at improving the industrial sector. Khan reaffirmed TUSDEC’s pivotal role in delivering industrial services, committing to measures that will enhance its efficiency and effectiveness.
