Islamabad: Federal Minister for Communications Abdul Aleem Khan convened a high-level meeting with Governor Balochistan Jaffar Khan Mandokhail in Islamabad to discuss infrastructure projects aimed at improving road connectivity and boosting socio-economic progress in Balochistan. The session focused on National Highway Authority (NHA) projects, with senior officials such as the Federal Secretary for Communications and the Chairman of the NHA in attendance.

According to Press Information Department, the highlight of the meeting was the Rs. 415 billion upgrade to the N-25 Karachi-Quetta-Chaman Highway, known as the Pakistan Expressway. Abdul Aleem Khan emphasized that this state-of-the-art expressway would significantly cut travel time between Karachi and Quetta, serving as a vital commercial route for Balochistan and the surrounding areas.

The Minister reiterated the federal government’s dedication to prioritizing crucial infrastructure projects, ensuring that the NHA is taking all necessary steps for the timely completion of highway projects in the province.

Governor Mandokhail expressed his appreciation for the Minister’s focus on the N-25 project, praising the NHA’s role in developing Balochistan’s transport network. He noted that the upgraded transport corridors would greatly benefit local communities. The meeting also covered other regional projects, such as the Zhob Bypass construction and further improvements to the province’s communications infrastructure.
