Pakistan Denounces Atrocities by Rapid Support Forces in Darfur

New York: Pakistan has strongly denounced the grave atrocities perpetrated by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) in Sudan’s Darfur region, highlighting concerns over ethnically motivated killings and the destruction of civilian infrastructure. The condemnation was voiced during a United Nations Security Council briefing on the International Criminal Court’s report concerning Darfur.

According to Radio Pakistan, Gul Qaiser Sarwani, Counsellor and Political Coordinator, articulated the growing apprehension regarding the deteriorating humanitarian and security conditions in Darfur. He cautioned that any escalation, particularly an RSF offensive against El Obeid, could lead to further international crimes.

Sarwani emphasized the necessity of holding accountable those responsible for atrocities, as well as those who support or enable such actions. Reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to Sudan’s sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity, he underscored the Sudanese people’s right to peace, justice, and dignity.

Additionally, Sarwani called for international justice to be pursued objectively and impartially, stating that its credibility hinges on the consistent application of the law without double standards.
