He called upon attendees to honor the memory of these leaders by dedicating themselves anew to the founding principles of Pakistan, aspiring towards making the nation a beacon of peace, progress, and human dignity.
Ambassador Junaid also highlighted the special relationship between Pakistan and Turkiye, pointing to the centuries-old fraternal bonds uniting them. He expressed gratitude towards the Turkish leadership and people for their heartfelt congratulations on Pakistan Day and for commemorating the occasion by lighting up the iconic bridges over the Bosphorus in the colors of the Pakistani flag.
The significance of March 23 was further underscored as the day the Lahore Resolution was passed in 1940, setting the stage for the eventual creation of Pakistan in 1947. This resolution, later known as the Pakistan Resolution, was a pivotal moment in the subcontinent’s history, marking the formal demand for a separate homeland for Muslims, a vision that came to fruition with Pakistan’s independence.
