Ankara: The Embassy of Pakistan in Ankara hosted a reception to mark the 85th National Day of Pakistan. The event was attended by H.E. Numan Kurtulmus, Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye, as the chief guest.
Notable attendees included H.E. Yasar Güler, Minister of National Defence, and H.E. Prof. Dr. Ömer Bolat, Minister of Trade. Former Prime Minister Binali Yildrim and former Deputy Prime Minister Bulent Arinc were present, alongside numerous high-ranking Turkish civil and military officials.
Dr. Yousaf Junaid, Ambassador of Pakistan to Türkiye, welcomed the guests and highlighted the historical significance of Pakistan Day. He reflected on the Lahore Resolution of 1940, which led to the creation of Pakistan, and paid homage to key figures in Pakistan’s history.
The Ambassador spoke on Pakistan’s economic progress, noting improved growth, reduced inflation, and rising exports. He emphasized the strong ties between Pakistan and Türkiye, built on shared history and mutual support, and reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to peace and development.
H.E. Numan Kurtulmus extended congratulations to Pakistan and highlighted the deep-rooted relationship between the two countries. He described the connection as one of brotherhood, shaped by shared values and history, and emphasized the importance of preserving this relationship for future generations.
The Speaker also noted the historical solidarity between the nations and reaffirmed Türkiye’s commitment to strengthening ties across various fields, including political, economic, and cultural exchanges.
