Islamabad, Pakistan Day is being celebrated across the nation today, marking the anniversary of the Lahore Resolution passed in 1940, which laid the foundational stone for the country’s independence. The day is observed with a variety of patriotic activities and ceremonies, reflecting the nation’s commitment to progress and stability.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the celebrations commenced with traditional 31-gun salutes in Islamabad and 21-gun salutes in the provincial capitals, signifying the nation’s homage to its historical journey. Mosques across Pakistan held special prayers for the country’s prosperity and unity following the Fajr prayers, and significant government buildings proudly hoisted the national flag.

The highlight of the day’s festivities is the grand military parade in Islamabad, showcasing the might and discipline of the country’s armed forces and security agencies. Spectacular march-pasts and precision aerobatic displays by fighter jets underscore the military’s prowess and readiness to defend the nation’s sovereignty.

Additionally, an investiture ceremony is scheduled at Aiwan-e-Sadar, where President Asif Ali Zardari will honor distinguished individuals with awards and medals, recognizing their significant contributions in various fields.
