Pakistan Calls for Stronger Global Cooperation on Social Development at UN


Pakistan has urged the international community to enhance cooperation to promote social development and combat poverty, emphasizing the need for collective action in achieving these goals. Speaking at the United Nations General Assembly’s Third Committee, Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the UN, Munir Akram, stressed the importance of inclusive social development as outlined in the Pact of the Future. According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Akram highlighted the ongoing global demographic shifts, stating that these changes require adaptations in societal, economic, and public policy frameworks. He emphasized that the Pact has established actions to address the financing gap for Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which are crucial for improving global living conditions.
