Pakistan Bolsters Security for Upcoming SCO Summit in Islamabad

Islamabad: In preparation for the forthcoming Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Heads of Government meeting, Pakistan’s Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi presided over a key meeting today to finalize security strategies. The session, focused on ensuring top-level safety for the international delegates, underscored the nation’s commitment to successfully hosting the high-profile event.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the meeting approved a comprehensive action plan that includes the deployment of additional personnel from the Pakistan Army, Rangers, Frontier Corps, and Punjab Police. These measures aim to establish foolproof security for the duration of the SCO summit.

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi emphasized the significance of the SCO meeting for Pakistan, describing it as both a considerable honor and a substantial responsibility. “The summit not only highlights Pakistan’s strategic role in regional diplomacy but also our capability to host international events securely and efficiently,” stated Naqvi.

The conference, set to occur later this month in Islamabad, will see participation from various heads of state, reflecting the SCO’s expansive influence in promoting cooperative ties among member countries. The security preparations are part of broader efforts to ensure that the summit proceeds without any disturbances, reinforcing Pakistan’s image as a safe and stable venue for international diplomatic engagements.
