Pakistan Backs Libyan-Led Peace Efforts at UN Security Council


New York: Pakistan has expressed support for a Libyan-led process as the most viable route to achieving lasting peace and stability in Libya. This approach was emphasized by Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Ambassador Munir Akram, during a Security Council briefing on the United Nations Support Mission in Libya.



According to a statement by Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Ambassador Akram encouraged all Libyan parties to sustain the current momentum and engage in meaningful dialogue to resolve outstanding issues. He highlighted the importance of a political reconciliation process that provides tangible benefits to all Libyan citizens and promotes an equitable distribution of the country’s resources.



Ambassador Akram also affirmed Pakistan’s continued commitment to supporting Libya’s path toward peace, stability, and prosperity. The ambassador’s remarks underscore Pakistan’s role as a supporter of efforts aimed at fostering stability in the war-torn nation.
