Pakistan-Australia Trade Talks Aim to Boost Economic Cooperation

Islamabad: A delegation from the Pakistan-Australia Business Council (PABC) met with Federal Minister for Commerce Jam Kamal Khan to discuss enhancing trade and economic relations between the two countries. The discussions focused on increasing bilateral engagements and tapping into the potential for collaboration in various sectors.

According to a statement by Press Information Department, the minister highlighted the growth in Pakistan’s exports to Australia and the increasing remittances from the Pakistani community residing there. He emphasized the importance of fostering high-level interactions to further strengthen the goodwill shared by both nations.

The minister acknowledged the Pakistani diaspora in Australia for their contributions to the economy and society. He commended the efforts of the PABC in building business connections and facilitating trade and investment opportunities between the countries.

Khan pointed out that while trade between Pakistan and Australia is expanding, there is significant untapped potential in areas such as trade, investment, and education. He noted the large number of Pakistani students benefiting from educational institutions in Australia.

The minister reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to strengthening its relationship with Australia and expressed optimism about future cooperation. He also mentioned cricket as a shared interest that continues to bring people from both nations closer.
