New York: Pakistan has reiterated its stance on the status of Jammu and Kashmir, declaring that the region never was, is not, and will never be an integral part of India. This statement was made by Saima Saleem, Counsellor at the Permanent Mission of Pakistan to the United Nations, during the 81st Session of the UN General Assembly.

According to Radio Pakistan, Saleem emphasized that Jammu and Kashmir is an internationally recognized disputed territory, with a significant portion under what she described as India’s forcible and illegal occupation for nearly eight decades. She argued that this occupation is against the wishes of the Kashmiri people and violates international law and numerous United Nations Security Council resolutions.

Saleem accused India of exporting terrorism and violence, presenting evidence to the international community regarding India’s alleged financing and support of terrorist groups targeting Pakistanis. She further criticized the ruling RSS-BJP government in India, claiming it has institutionalized Hindutva ideology in state policy and practice, leading to what she described as a reign of terror against minorities.
