Islamabad: Pakistan and the United Kingdom have reiterated their commitment to intensifying economic reforms and strengthening their development partnership, officials announced today. The affirmation came during a meeting between Pakistan’s Minister for Economic Affairs, Ahad Cheema, and Sam Waldock, Development Director at the UK’s Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO).

According to Radio Pakistan, the discussions highlighted the UK’s continued support for Pakistan’s strategic initiatives aimed at enhancing policy implementation through embedded delivery mechanisms. Cheema expressed appreciation for the FCDO’s support, particularly in strengthening the Strategic Initiatives Unit and the Governance Reforms Unit, which play a crucial role in fostering institutional reforms.

Waldock emphasized the UK’s dedication to collaborating with Pakistan across key sectors to support the country’s development priorities. Both parties expressed mutual interest in maintaining and expanding their cooperative efforts to further economic reform and development objectives.
