Pakistan and UAE Strengthen Ties Through Parliamentary Diplomacy


Islamabad, National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq underscored the importance of robust parliament-to-parliament relations between Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates (UAE), emphasizing their role in fostering regional prosperity and economic growth. During a meeting with the UAE Ambassador, Mr. Hamad Obaid Ibrahim Alzaabi, discussions centered on deepening bilateral relationships and enhancing mutual cooperation.



According to National Assembly of Pakistan, Speaker Sadiq highlighted the longstanding, friendly ties between the two nations, rooted in shared religious and cultural values. He stressed the significance of revitalizing the Parliamentary Friendship group and proposed a reciprocal visit by the Speaker of the UAE Parliament to Pakistan, signaling a commitment to strengthening diplomatic and legislative exchanges.



Speaker Sadiq also pointed to Pakistan’s potential as a vibrant investment destination and its skilled workforce’s capacity to contribute to the UAE’s development. He acknowledged the constructive role of the Pakistani community in the UAE and appreciated the UAE government’s support for them, noting their substantial contribution to fostering closer ties between the two countries.



Ambassador Alzaabi congratulated Speaker Sadiq on his election and expressed optimism about the prospects for enhanced parliamentary collaboration, affirming the UAE’s commitment to supporting Pakistani workers and acknowledging the Pakistani diaspora’s positive impact in the UAE.



The meeting signifies a concerted effort to bolster Pakistan-UAE relations, focusing on parliamentary diplomacy as a key avenue for advancing shared interests and mutual development.
