Islamabad: At the Pak-Saudi Business Forum 2024 held on October 10, Federal Minister for Petroleum Dr. Musadik Malik articulated a shared trajectory for economic growth and technological advancement between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, underlining both nations’ commitment to integrating into global value chains and embracing the fourth industrial revolution. This collaboration is seen as a strategic alignment with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 and Pakistan’s economic goals, promising substantial mutual benefits.
According to Press Information Department, Dr. Malik highlighted the historical ties between the two countries, emphasizing a shift from traditional friendship to robust economic partnership. He pointed out the areas of 360-degree security encompassing food, economic, and energy sectors where both countries have significant potential to collaborate. Dr. Malik outlined the opportunity to leverage Pakistan’s rich copper resources and Saudi Arabia’s advanced smelting technologies to play a pivotal role in the global electrification revolution.
The forum also addressed the potential for tourism in Pakistan’s northern regions, presenting an attractive destination for Saudi families looking to explore new landscapes. Furthermore, Dr. Malik spoke about the synergy between Saudi Arabia’s digital transformation initiatives in artificial intelligence and machine learning, and Pakistan’s burgeoning pool of engineering talent. Dr. Malik assured that the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) has been established to streamline investment processes, reducing bureaucratic hurdles and laying out a metaphorical red carpet for investors.
