RIYADH: A high-level delegation from Pakistan’s power sector met with Saudi Arabia’s Energy Working Group in Riyadh on Monday to discuss global energy transition and investment opportunities in Pakistan’s power sector. The meeting highlighted reforms in Pakistan’s power industry and potential areas for collaboration between the two nations.

According to Radio Pakistan, the Pakistani delegation, led by Minister for Energy Sardar Awais Ahmad Khan Leghari, presented investment opportunities in the power transmission sector, emphasizing the need to expand the national grid. Discussions also covered Pakistan’s digitalization efforts, including the deployment of Smart Metering and Advanced Metering Infrastructure.

Leghari extended an invitation to the Saudi Energy Working Group to visit Pakistan to gain insight into its reform initiatives and explore investment opportunities in transmission infrastructure and smart utility technologies. The Pakistani delegation assured full government support for Saudi investors and partners.

Both delegations expressed their commitment to maintaining engagement and translating discussions into collaborations that contribute to economic growth, energy security, and regional cooperation.
